With first-hand knowledge working in a diverse range of industries ―including the built environment, advertising, hospitality and government ― she utilizes her 30 years of leadership, communication and business development talents to help companies reach their next pinnacle of success.
Carol has an educational background from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with Master’s coursework at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, and spent 27 years designing continual improvements and rising to the level of CEO and managing partner at an architectural firm founded by her father. She transformed a general practice architectural company into a prominent specialty niche practice in new markets and geographies, doubled the firm’s revenues and quadrupled its profits, built a top-notch leadership team, rebranded the firm, and developed an award-winning project management system prior to orchestrating the firm’s successful transition and integration with a larger architectural competitor.
Known for her abilities in rainmaking, team building, and written and oral communication, she was recruited for numerous private and public board positions before being appointed as State Representative in the Illinois General Assembly during one of the most challenging decades as a public servant. She is committed to the philosophy of being a centrist problem solver and citizen legislator who stays grounded in the daily realities her constituents face. Having “been there,” her diplomacy and negotiation skills benefit her governmental clients in dealing with their customers.
